The Sony Press Conference E3 2007

E3 is merehours away now, and there is much hype building for the sony press conference. But what will be in it? What will they show off? Will a rumble controller be announced? Will Killzone 2 blow our socks off? Will we gain exclusives? Will we get new IPs?

These are some of the questions, so lets expand more on them so we know what we can be discussing.

Will it be better than last years?

Almost undoubtably in my opinion, last years was quite a mess-up.
With Kaz hirai and Co. Too egar to bring out the big news like price and dates
they forgot to quench our thirst for games. Instead showing us an overly long
demonstation of GT HD which isnt even a real game and the infamous Genji 2.

This year sony have alot to prove and with Home bursting for attention and
inevitable suprises in store. It should be good. What do you think it'll be like
compared to last year?

Ridge Racer and Giant Enemy Crabs? Lets hope not this year!

FINAL OPINION: It was by miles.

What games will they show?

There are alot of games urging us to give them attention that have barely peeked their
bump mapped faces out of the masses of games this year. Rumoured games to appear
are Killzone 2, heavenly sword, Lair and The Getaway (Saying its been there both E3's prior).

CONFIRMED: Ratchet and Clank: Tools Of Destruction WILL be making an appearance.

But there has also been a number of new titles confirmed for the conference. So lets sit back and
absorb some new titles! What do you think these could be? Twisted metal? Parasite eve? Team ICO game?

Other games worth mentioning like Final Fantasy 13, White knight, RE5 and DMC4 and even 8 dayswould be interesting to
have on stage also. But what games do YOU want to see at the conference any why?

What will they suprise us with?

CONFIRMED: Price Drop of $100 in the US for the 60gb model, and an unannounced amount for other territories.

RUMOURS:Home has been touched on at GDC, but has a lot more to offer, lets hope they give us a juicy look at that this year. Update 2.0? This is another rumor that has been flying around, about the infamous 'Answer to our dreams' update
dubbed 2.0. Its been confirmed, Debunked, rumor milled and fallen into obscurity. Could it show its face this E3?

What would you do if this bad boy Boomeranged back with rumble?

What did they suprise us with?:A bucket load of new exclusives, and some staying exclusive.
Also, killzone 2 living up to the hype.

What are YOU hoping for?

Well i cant write here, post a reply and voice what you want. It'll be interesting!

My expectations of E3 in general are pretty low because I don't expect a whole lot of new titles to be announced because of the change in momentum of the year.

So all I'm really expecting is release dates and more info on games like Killzone 2 and Uncharted.

Want I really want to see is Phil say, there is a controller redesign with rumble, but it aint the stupid boomerang comtroller. OMFG i hate that thing, it doesnt look comfertable what so ever.

You do know that if it is coming out it's for the PS2. Look at the blueprints in the link it's clearly a PS2. And the rumor is that Sony will release this on the PS2 and drop the price of the PS2 to about $99 or so.

Doesn't matter, I was just saying just in case people started to think or assume that it was for the PS3.

I wanna see something interesting like PSN anywhere (Similar to live anywhere, though that promise is not happening for MS) they have potential to do this since we see Sony ericsson phones, the PSP of course with its remote playlennygundam14

I belive they were going to do that using wireless hotspots and remote play via the PSP. So that could be closer than you think.

I think they will do something completely unexpected. Lets face it, they have always done that in one way or another

Confirmed release date for MGS4
KZ2 to look like the trailer and be released in late 07/early 08
Team Ico's next game to be unveiled
Firmware 2.0 to be announced with in-game XMB
An assload of new IPsto make xbots jealous
Rumble added to the sixaxis with a minimal increase in weight and decrease in battery life

Especially this part is interesting "but also a few surprises we have up our sleeves that no one has seen." So this is something totally unknown. Combine that with 8 days, GetAway3 and with all games that appeared during SCEA gamers day, i am sold!

I expect around 3-5 unannounced titles to appear

YES the Getaway will blow away GTAIV.

I want to see KZ2, LBP, and Heavenly Sword. Along with all the newer titles. And I would LOVE to see some of these game titles pushed up in release date. Why release everything in fall? c'mon, lets get this gametrain 'a rollin'!

I also really wanna see what the new unanounced IP's are. What I am really hoping for though, is something tangible to come out of it. Wether is 2.0, a new controller, A bunch of awesome games, or all three (that would be amazing), I just want ... more! I know that patience is a virtue, but I think we've all waited long enough to be deemed virtuous by now lol.

what I'm expecting :

- some new gameplay (not some false Wiimote thing) : like the good ideas in the old days : Altered beast where your body changed, R-type with the concentrated blast, X-men legends where you change characters with the D-pad, dance floor...

- something with the Playstation eye : if the technology allows it, we can have something better than the Wiimote if the camera can "read" the movements and allow to "be" in the game (like it was done for Eye toy Antigrav)

- a real coop game (maybe army of two) in real time : a real team with particular advantages for each comrade reacting with maybe R1/R2/L1/L2 to make them ste up a bomb, cover you, make a noise to distract an enemy, jump on a boss's back ... that's what I call good AI and new gameplay
